Castro Marim Golf & Country Club
Castro Marim Golf & Country Club lies close to the border of Spain and is easily accessible via the A22 motorway. Its close proximity to the Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim e Vila Real de Santo António, a wetland marsh that consists of fauna and migrating wildlife, will appeal to the nature lovers.
Nearby, the castle at Castro Marim is a medieval fortress that lies atop a hill providing a commanding view of the civil parish. Originally part of the defensive network overseen by the Knights Templar, this stronghold played a significant role in the Portuguese Reconquista.
The course consists of 27 holes playable over three different scorecards. Playing the courses can be a challenge and a buggy would always be recommended due to the undulating terrain. When playing you will notice a number of the holes are doglegged with some blind shots required. It’s predominantly parkland in nature but does have some exposure in places which encourages windy conditions.
Pricing at Castro Marim is very reasonable and the venue offers a number of offers throughout the year, as well as membership options that include summer only packages.

A great day, highly recommend!
I cannot address the hotel as we only golfed. But in terms of a golf experience, Paolo was amazing to deal with. He was responsive by email and welcoming at the pro shop. The course was a lot of fun. The front nine is way stronger than the back, which has some blind shots and is tricky in parts - fun overall. But we stayed for many beers after and met a lot of people/members who chatted us up and gave us great advice (we are a Canadian group). We truly loved our day there. Paolo is very well-spoken and will treat you like he owns the place. Thanks to him and all the people at Castro Marim for giving my group an awesome golf experience and a fun day.
